Inside The Major League Baseball Tech Startup That Could Change Television -
Over the past decade, this simple arrangement has necessitated and allowed MLBAM to build itself into a video-streaming powerhouse. Very quietly, it has come to stream more live video than any other company on the planet, its servers dependably handling the load of tens of millions of viewers watching multiple broadcast feeds at the same time. If the entire country suddenly cancelled their cable and satellite service and switched to MLBAM technology for all of their live TV watching, one gets the sense the company is not far off from being able to handle it.
And that, after all, might just be the plan.
Rachel found Halloween internet-themed costume ideas from 2008. I can’t tell how much of this guy’s Firefox-earth is just made of his own lumpy body.
Halloween is awful.

I once climbed out of a second story window because I didn’t want to say hi to the new people that had arrived downstairs. —

You Made It Weird - Episode #81
The result of letting my sister use my amazon account. Sure, sharing kindle books with the family has been nice, but it’s not worth this.
Out of charity, I won’t dwell on how completely absurd it is that Apple wants to convey the build-quility of this device by comparing it to something —”a finely crafted watch”— which very few people own, which is a symbol typically of wealth and status, and which, above all, this very class of device has mostly obviated. They might as well compare it to the fit and finish of a telegraph.
The whole post is great.
And for a moment he held out his hands as if to steady himself or as if to bless the ground there or perhaps as if to slow the world that was rushing away and seemed to care nothing for maximum inflation pressure or alignment or aspect ratios or radial ply or traction or tread or gross vehicle weight or heat cycling.

Sorry Jules. :(
Meh. I’ll give it a month.
I mean, you know. I don’t wanna fall out of the rape loop forever.
You know what? Block the word. Twitter is whatever you want it to be. I don’t see a conflict between using twitter mostly as a joke machine (as you do) and being someone who genuinely cares about these issues. The conflict comes when you turn the blocking into a unnecessary and gross joke post and then assume the people who react badly just don’t get it. For fuck’s sake, your URL slug joke is “self defense”! I GET IT. IT IS AWFUL.
All you have to do is imagine the reaction to someone else posting this. You have called people out for less. Many of your friends have as well.
The really scary thing is the horrible responses people like @lia are getting after calling you out. Those people? They think they are on your team. Creepy right?
I hate that I feel the need to tell you that I have liked your stuff for years, because it shouldn’t matter, except it probably explains why I can’t seem to make myself ignore this.
There are lots of thoughtful responses to this post. The fact that you can’t even acknowledge that people have a problem with it is disappointing but not really surprising. I feel a bit dumb for letting shit on the internet get to me (I try so hard not to let that happen).
